The high-profile case against Michael Jackson's personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray has just been postponed until September at the request of the defense.
Just a week before opening statements were slated to begin in an L.A. courtroom, the judge has agreed the given time for Dr. Murray's lawyers to prepare for the prosecution's new witnesses.
Opening arguments in the highly-publicized trial had been scheduled for May 9, with jury selection already underway, however, the delay will result in the dismissal of all prospective jurors.
Dr. Murray has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's June 2009 death, where prosecutors say he gave the singer a lethal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol."
