Times Popcast: Taylor Swift, Dierks Bentley and Wrapping CMJ

Jon Caramanica discusses Taylor Swift's strategy of anger and revenge on her new album, "Speak Now," which takes aim at critics and bad ex-boyfriends who might or might not be John Mayer. "Taylor's gasoline is revenge and payback," says Mr. Caramanica, who wrote about the album in Arts & Leisure. "Writing a song about John Mayer is about the most mercenary thing you can do. It's almost worse than going on the cover of People magazine and saying, 'John Mayer broke my heart,' because then it's a war of words about truth. But if you write a song about it, that song is indelible." Jon Caramanica on Taylor Swift, a performance by Dierks Bentley and Times critics wrap up CMJ.
